No. Monty has done and is a happy to do a morning, a lunch or an afternoon with Monty Criswell. Monty can cater what he does to fit into any time frame for conferences, meetings, shows or corporate events.
The optimal time frame is 90 minutes. However, Monty can adapt the show to a 60 or 120 minute time frame if needed. Changing the time frame is usually a matter of eliminating or adding musical performances. Monty is happy to discuss exactly what a client wants and fit what he does into that.
Monty has two managers: Stevie Johns at Inkwell-MGMT and Jay Peeper from Nashville Nights. Jay handles most of the audio and visual requests for Monty. For visual needs, it’s optimal if the venue has a projector screen. Monty has a pre-show sizzle reel narrated by Trace Adkins. It plays from a laptop via a USB or USB-C drive prior to Monty presenting, and is helpful with giving the audience a great framework for what they are about to experience. If there are no projection capabilities, Monty has an audio only version of the sizzle reel as well. If needed, Monty can also do the show without either, but we’ve found that audiences seem to love the video.
For audio needs, Monty requires several pieces of gear such as a piano keyboard, a couple of mics, a wedge monitor or two, etc. Jay Peeper will discuss those needs in detail and work to have those ready at the show. Jay is very thorough and experienced and can travel with Monty at times if needed to make sure everything is in order. Costs for equipment rental are usually reasonable and some venues already have the equipment on site plus a sound engineer to run it, which is important. If the venue is within reasonable driving distance for Monty, he usually brings his own piano.
Whether flying our driving, Monty has a brief but detailed tech rider that outlines those audio needs.
Stevie Johns and her staff will discuss travel costs and how those are addressed. She will also take care of the contract and details along the way and follow up afterwards.
Yes, Monty is happy to Zoom, call and/or meet to make sure that he covers certain points during the show.
Yes. Monty is extremely personable, accessible and very accommodating.
Yes.
Yes. For example, Monty can highlight a specific topic from his journey in a keynote address on Day 1 of a conference, do a Q & A with the audience at any time and then finish up the last evening with the 90 minute show. A second example would be Monty performing a Friday night show, a Saturday matinee and a Saturday evening show at a theatre type venue. Stevie and Jay can work out price points on just about any combination for clients. We are happy to work with a client to come up with what fits their needs best.
Monty is a working staff songwriter in Nashville with a publishing deal. He writes during the week and usually performs Thursday-Sunday, but with enough heads up, he can accommodate just about any schedule. One of the great things about Monty, is that’s he’s coming straight from the trenches of the music business during the week and onto the stage, bringing with him all of those experiences and expertise to your event.
